Diet Without Salt

The use of table salt contains sodium and chloride are essential to health. Because sodium minerals in table salt, in small amounts is able to contribute to the function of muscles, nerves and fluid balance needed in the body.

But eating lots of sodium as found in table salt can cause high blood pressure and more at risk of stroke. American consumption of sodium per day on average about 3436 milligrams. The recommendation was to keep the sodium intake below 2,400 milligrams (a teaspoon of salt) in a single day.

American Heart Association recommends a target even lower sodium than 1,500 milligrams a day, especially if a person has high blood pressure. If not, use too much salt will increase the risk of heart problems. Apparently, to lose weight, this diet is effective.


A participant of this diet claim to lose weight because it followed the diet without salt. Diet is done by minimizing or eliminating salt in daily consumption. Perhaps initially less exciting, but this diet proven effective.
